A dog exploring O'Leary and West Point

The dog-friendly guide to

O'Leary and West Point

Red-sand shoreline and a black-and-white lighthouse.

Field notes September 2026

Our West Point detour: Cedar Dunes, a lighthouse beach and Tilly’s favourite kind of water break.

We headed to West Point, the westernmost point on Prince Edward Island, for the beach and its distinctive black-and-white lighthouse.

Parking at the West Point Lighthouse Inn & Museum put us inside Cedar Dunes Provincial Park, where Tilly got to dip her toes in the water.

Westernmost PEIA worthwhile detour to the island’s western edge.
West Point LighthouseThe black-and-white lighthouse anchors the beach and park.
Toes in the waterThe shoreline gave Tilly a perfect leashed water break.
