Visited with Tilly Attraction field notes
Nova Scotia Visitor Information Centre
A dog-friendly border welcome with bathrooms, souvenirs, scenic grounds and, on our 2026 return, a live bagpiper in the gardens.

The short version
The Nova Scotia Visitor Information Centre at Fort Lawrence became our first stop in the province on both our 2025 and 2026 drives east. The centre is dog friendly, with a small shop, bathrooms and open grounds for a useful leg stretch.
On our July 2026 return, a bagpiper was playing beneath a large tree in the flowering gardens. Together with the flags and windy marsh views, it gave the roadside break a distinctly Nova Scotian welcome.
The centre and grounds welcomed Tilly on our visits. Keep dogs leashed and confirm current indoor access before travelling.
