A dog exploring Moncton

The dog-friendly guide to

Moncton

Tidal bore views and a riverfront at your door.

Field notes August 2026

Our practical Moncton notes: the Rodd Moncton motel rooms overlooking Bore Park, the Riverfront Park walk along the Petitcodiac, and downtown stops with Tilly.

Moncton was our New Brunswick overnight, and the Rodd Moncton's motel part was awesome — a reasonably big room looking out onto Bore Park, with the tidal bore visible from the window.

You can walk all along the river through Riverfront Park, and downtown is easy to reach: Tide & Boar Brewing welcomed Tilly on their patio, and Kept on Main (now Good Day Gifts & Housewares) allowed dogs before its name change.
