A dog exploring Vancouver

The dog-friendly guide to

Vancouver

Sea swims, park views and neighbourhood patios with Tilly.

Field notes August 2026

A practical dog-friendly guide to the Vancouver beaches, parks, patios and neighbourhoods we explored with Tilly.

Vancouver immediately felt easier with Tilly than Kamloops had. Hadden Beach gave her a first chance to play off leash beside the sea, and we liked it enough to return the following afternoon.

A Commercial Drive Airbnb made a comfortable base for Stanley Park, Gastown and several welcoming patios.

Tilly's happy placeHadden Beach combined an off-leash area, sand and her first chance to play beside open water.
Park panoramasProspect Point gave us a broad view across the water to the Lions Gate Bridge.
Patio mealsEast Van Brewing and Jamjar Canteen both welcomed Tilly outdoors.
