A dog exploring Edmonton

The dog-friendly guide to

Edmonton

Ravine shade, skyline views, a dog-friendly market and a patio pint.

Field notes August 2026

A practical dog-friendly guide to the Edmonton places where we walked, stayed, browsed a market and stopped for a pint with Tilly.

Edmonton gave us a slower landing after the Red Deer overnight: a shady ravine walk before check-in, a comfortable Airbnb and evening views across the river valley.

The best dog-friendly pieces of the stay were simple: Mill Creek Ravine Park for a short woodland walk, Strathearn Park for skyline views, 124 Grand Market for treats and Arcadia Brewing Co for an outdoor pint near Manchester Square.

Ravine shadeMill Creek Ravine Park worked for a short woodland walk while we waited to check in.
Skyline walksStrathearn Park was a short walk from the Airbnb and had excellent city views during rush hour.
Market treats124 Grand Market permitted dogs and had vendors selling dog treats, including a broth popsicle for Tilly.
