Attraction field notes
Northwest Bow River pathway
A scenic river route with hilltop views, people tubing downstream and wildlife near the water.

The short version
Our northwest Calgary location gave us access to a pretty trail along the Bow River and a large park above the neighbourhood.
The hill to the park made morning walks challenging, especially in the heat. Near the water we watched people tubing and spotted a couple of water snakes, so we kept Tilly close and gave the wildlife space.
The dog details
Tilly walked the paths on leash. Keep dogs controlled near the river, trail traffic and wildlife, including snakes close to the water.
